I'm the owner of Small Paws Kāpiti Coast. I provide tailored walks, day care, and pet-sitting services for dogs who are small in stature. My story began over 3 years ago as a full-time pet sitter in the UK. Over 3 years later and still loving life caring for pups, (and less so working for a Government agency), I decided to formalise my experience and love for pups and established Small Paws Kāpiti Coast. I'm primarily based in Waikanae, and have clients (now friends) across the Kāpiti area from Paekākāriki to Peka Peka. I'm also a lifelong learner, and to compliment my degree and postgrad studies in conservation and animal behaviour, I have recently completed an NZQA Certificate in Companion Animal Care. My study has now turned to canine behaviour with a view to helping owners understand and improve behavioural issues with their pups. Watch this space for an update on my services offered!

My services are tailored specifically to the needs of your pup. I offer individual and small group walks, feeding, companionship and play visits, medicine administration and overnight and extended stays in their familiar space. Walks can be energetic or slow paced, long or short. I do not operate from a 'one size fits all' perspective - I cater to the needs of YOUR dog.

My Commitment
I'm committed to providing a safe and fun environment for your dog. I have public liability insurance, a clean criminal record, and a current certificate in Pet First Aid, proving that I take the safety and well-being of your pup very seriously.
Dog Walking
Swift Sniff & Stretch 30mins
A solo walk, this option provides one-on-one time with your pup for quick relief and light exercise and is perfect for older pups or those with limited mobility. I typically walk in your neighbourhood.
Adventure Hour 1hr
A solo walk, this option provides one-on-one time and more extensive exercise and stimulation ideal for high-energy small breeds. Also, great for longer play sessions and training practice, including visits to local parks or beaches (if allowed).
Social Paws
Unlike solo walks, this option is great for socialisation with other small dogs. The walk is limited to 2 to 3 dogs to ensure proper care, attention, and control is given. I try to match dogs based on energy level and temperament. On or off-leash dependent on your dog's requirements.
Prices quoted are for 30 minutes or 1 hour.
Additional Services
Pup Pop-ins
Great for puppies and dogs with special needs, I'll ensure your pup is well-fed and cared for during the day. I'll replenish food and water bowls and administer medication if required.
Includes playtime for mental stimulation and companionship to brighten their day.
Prices quoted are for once or twice daily visits.
Cosy Overnight Cuddles
Ideal for pup owners who are away for short periods, I'll provide overnight care in your pup's familiar environment. Includes an evening and following morning walk, feed, and personalised attention depending on your pup's usual routine.
Price is quoted per night.
